Brachytherapy is a type of radiation therapy involving the insertion of a radioactive means – an isotope – into the site where neoplastic cells occur or from which a tumour has been removed – in order to neutralize cells causing a neoplastic disease.
Brachytherapy is applied in the therapy of many malignant neoplasms such as prostate cancer, breast cancer, prostate neoplasm, reproductive organ neoplasm, skin neoplasm.

This method is employed by two NU-MED Group centers – NU-MED Center for Diagnostics and Oncology Therapy in Katowice and NU-MED Center for Diagnostics and Oncology Therapy in Zamość.
